If you ever find happiness by hunting for it, you will find it as the old woman did her lost spectacles. Safe on her own nose all the time. ~ Josh Billings

Miscellaneous

I have been doing a lot of random things lately. But I've been having a lot of fun too! Friday night Derek and I went and got stuff for our puppy who will be coming home in a few days. Then we watched "Monster-in-Law." (Which isn't very good by the way) Then Saturday I relaxed!! It was wonderful. It's been so long since I've spent the majority of a day relaxing. Then we went to the Saturday night service at church then Jeff, Katrina, and her fiance Brent came over and we watched football. (I know, not real exciting, but it was fun)

Sunday was a long day but a lot of fun. Of course it started with going to church but then from 4-8ish the church had a Praise Festival. They actually barricaded off the street and put a huge stage right in the middle and had 6 bands play throughout the afternoon. Some of the bands were just your normal praise and worship bands from some of the local churches, one band had a harmonica and a fiddle, which was cool, then the last two was some really hardcore rock music. (A lot like Broken Yoke!) It was hilarious watching senior citizens listen to the hard rock, but a lot left once it got to that. It was fun to just sit in the street, watch the bands, and meet lots and lots of new people! Sadly, someone in the neighborhood actually called the cops on the church. Can you believe it? And it was over about 8:15, so it wasn't even that late. Luckily, since they closed off the street, the city already knew about it, plus Pekin doesn't have a noise ordinance so they weren't doing anything wrong anyways. But who calls the cops on a church?

Today I got to go to a food show at the Civic Center. It's for restaurants and other food service organizations to go and see what kind of products are on the maket. And basically it's just booth after booth of samples and food demonstrations. I ate so much! And almost none of it was healthy! But who cares! It was a lot of fun.

This week I'm on Oncology. Then all I have is the ICU floor and I'm done with my rotations. But first I'll have to do 3 weeks of staff relief. But I think I'll enjoy it...hopefully. Then I'm off to the Community Rotations. I cannot wait to be done and get a real job!!

Maybe the people who called the cops did not realize it was a church. Although, they would probably have to be stupid not to figure it out.
