If you ever find happiness by hunting for it, you will find it as the old woman did her lost spectacles. Safe on her own nose all the time. ~ Josh Billings

Deja Vu

Well, once again Derek and I are in limbo between two homes. About half of our belongings are in Pekin and the other half are here in Peoria with us. However, tomorrow my parents are driving from Ohio with some more of our belongings and then they're going to help us move the rest of our things. We are supposed to be out of our apartment by Sunday. That also means I have to clean our apartment from top to bottom, which I have found I am not good at... So that's been a big part of what has been going on in Derek and I's life right now. But we have done a few other things besides putting all of our belongings in boxes and transporting them about 30 miles.
We went home for Labor Day weekend which was really nice. We left last Friday at lunch and stayed in Van Wert until Monday afternoon so it was a little less rushed than normal. I went shopping with my mom and then Derek's parents, my parents, and Derek and I all had dinner Saturday night and played games, which was actually really fun. Then Sunday we went to church and hung out with Derek's parents, then went to the fair and had dinner with my family and then went to the Lonestar concert that night. Before we went I had heard the opening band was a local band, but when we got there and watched the band I found out I actually knew one of the guys in the band. He had gone to high school with Derek and I. So that made it interesting. And they were actually pretty good.

Going to the fair was alright, but it meant seeing a lot of people from Van Wert...Derek and I were sitting eating dinner and a girl who never would have talked to either of us in high school started asking us a million questions about what we're doing now, what my job entails, etc. I was polite, but short with her. When we walked away Derek said, "She didn't care what I did in high school, why does she care now?" I thought that was funny because Derek normally thinks the best from everyone. I'm sure she just wanted to know so she could gossip, but oh well, I have nothing to be ashamed of, right?

Besides all that I've just been working and Derek has been too, except today because he's been sick. He called in to work which suprised me! I thought he'd have to be in the hospital before he'd call in sick. So he must really be pretty miserable because I don't think he's ever called in sick to a job before, and he never missed a class at Bluffton. (I guess opposites attract) So him being sick has made moving a little more difficult, but not too bad. I think he might just be pretending so he doesn't have to clean...just kidding! As of today I have felt like crap and I'm afraid I'm getting sick too...wouldn't that be great? Hopefully I can fight it off! Anyways, I'm sure you're all bored so I'll stop. Next time I blog it should be from Pekin, IL instead of Peoria. But I don't think we'll have the internet until Wednesday...I'm sure you'll all miss my boring entries.

Oh yeah, one more thing! Abby Mo and Maria are planning a trip to come visit me!!!
