Hardcore B*&%#
Well, today was my first day on the floor by myself. It was crazy, I had about 3 times as many patients as the other interns and I busted my butt all day. Then at the end of the day the dietitian I was with called me and ripped me a new one. Granted, I had made a mistake, but I didn't think it was that big of a deal. Basically, I was just a little cautious with my treatment. Well, anyways to make a long story short, she took about 15 minutes to explain to me what I had done wrong, why it was wrong, why she was right, etc. etc. etc. She even said, "I don't mean to be a hardcore b*&%#, but...." By the end of her lecture I felt like I was barely qualified to make french fries at McDonalds. I ended up crying at work because I felt like I should just pack up my things and never come back. To make matters worse, I have a presentation tomorrow and needless to say I don't feel real qualified or knowledgable and I have to talk for a half an hour in front of the whole department tomorrow....If I hadn't paid 10s of thousands of dollars to go to school, I think I honestly would quit and become a chef or a clown or something.

aww babe, people like that are not worth it thinking they can put anyone down without even thinking of their feelings, there are ways to tell someone that they have made a mistake and a lecture that ends up in tears is not the way! i'm sorry you had a bad day, wish i could be there for you, sure Derek's doing a good job though and Teddy! DOn't give up i'm sure your an excellent dietician, and you will do great! think positive, love ya!

in my opinion, anyone who uses the word bitch in a lecture to someone on their first day is not qualified for their job either!!!
I am sure things will get better. You are a smart girl. Just don't let it get you down. Everyone makes mistakes.

People can be so mean! This lady should realize that you are there to learn.
