Basketball, Bradley, and free condoms.
So, do I have your attention now?
Things have been pretty exciting recently. There's a lot going on and time is flying! This week is my last week at the EDU so I am definately excited about that! It will be such a relief when it's over. It's interesting, but just not for me... So anyways, I'm almost done with that! I am also loving the weather! Today I broke out my flip flops for the first time so that was definately exciting! Besides that, I've been watching a lot of basketball. And sadly, I'm finding that I enjoy March Madness more than I like to admit. It has been a lot of fun to watch the games! One of the most exciting things has been watching Bradley play. Most of you have probably never heard of Bradley unless for some reason you've been watching basketball this year. But anyways, Bradley is a pretty small private college in Peoria. (Large compared to Bluffton, but small compared to other schools in March Madness-I think they have like 8,000 students...) So anyways, they barely made it into March Madness and they have since upset Kansas and then Pittsburgh. So this area has been crazy lately with all the excitement over that. Plus one of the players goes to our church so it's been fun to follow. So, now that you're all bored hearing about basketball, I'll move onto the free condoms...
So, Saturday morning I had a presentation at a small commuter college in Peoria. Jeff and I were presenting and Golda, our director went along to observe. It was basically a day long presentation for the employees on various topics, including ours about nutrition. So, we got there, and found we were the 2nd speaker...the first speaker was from Planned Parenthood and taught all the participants how to put condoms on...well, you're all old enough to know... (Oh, and did I mention the girl doing the demo goes to my church?) The woman in charge of planning all the speakers also goes to my church and was there to greet us...with free condoms. As we walked in, she was putting condoms in all our pockets...what a welcome! So, then we are being introduced. Jeff and I both had put on a small card info about ourselves like where we went to school, etc. Jeff had put on his card that he's getting married in June, so she announced that as well. At this point, Jeff pulls the condoms out of his pocket, holds them up and says, "These will come in handy!" Golda and I were mortified. But at least it gave me a good story for my blog! (I just hope the Sisters from the hospital don't read this, I'm not sure they would approve!)

wow. Jeff is an original! I know your church isn't anti-birth control, but is that weird for you?

To be given condoms?? Yeah! It's a little weird regardless of our churches stance on it. And Reba, this is Abby Me's blog...why are you so confused?
