If you ever find happiness by hunting for it, you will find it as the old woman did her lost spectacles. Safe on her own nose all the time. ~ Josh Billings

In the "Real" world...

Well, I've worked almost one week at my new job and things are going great. I really like it and it was an easy transition. Normally orientation for new dietitians takes about 1 week, mine took about 1 hour, seeing as how I already know everyone, know my way around the hospital, know the computer system, etc. etc. etc. So although it's going really well, I'm already considering taking another position. Although it's at the same hospital and most of the other dietitians are trying to talk me into taking it, since the position usually takes a long time to fill. It's an outpatient position, no clinical work, presentations to the general public, and media work. Yup, going on tv 3-5 times each month and providing quotes for any tv or newspaper articles, etc. nutrition related. However, I am really not excited about the media stuff, especially going on tv. However, our internship director did all the media work while the position was empty last year and she likes it and said she would do the media work if they could find someone to do everything else, so I might do it without going on tv, or I may consider doing the media work myself too, I'm not sure. Or I may keep the job I have...we'll see. I do have a little while to decide, it's still filled by a dietitian who is having a baby in October (That is why she is leaving the position) So I already have options, how exciting!
Besides working, I'm trying to have fun too :) Today, Derek and I went putt-putt golfing. We had been to the place a lot, and noticed on one hole they had moved one of the obstacles, a big rock! So I was intruiged and trying to figure out how they move the obstacles and realized the rock just picks up and can be moved, nothing too exciting...until I got the bright idea to move the rock and put it over the hole...The closest people were about 5 holes behind us and we were almost done, so when we were finished, we sat in our car and watched them as they got to that hole. I felt like I was doing "candid camera." It was hilarious, they looked and looked, walked down to the end, walked back...and finally moved onto the next hole. LOL It was hilarious...I told my mom about it and she thought it was mean, but I thought it was all in good fun! What do you think?

That is hilarious! It does sound kind of mean, but since it wasn't something that was harmful, I would say it wasn't mean. I would have loved to see those people looking for the hole!

having just done some putt-putt myself, I think your story is hilarious! And I'm glad things are going so well for you at work.

P.S. While I was on vacation, I realized your two year anniversary was this past week. I hope you had a good one and it is hard to believe it has been two years!

You could be on TV? My friend Abby from Bluffton is becoming a famous television star before I even make it into the workforce!
