Update
Well, it's been a while since I posted. But for once, it's because I've been really busy, not because I don't have anything to write about. I'm not sure where to start, but I'll try to update you on what I've been doing. Two weekends ago, John and Mary came to visit us, so that was a lot of fun. We went back to the Prarie Wildlife Preserve with all the wild animals, and lots of walking trails. It was really nice. We also went to a baseball game that was followed by an Avalon concert, which was great. Then this past weekend we took the youth group to Cedar Point. I am still recuperating! We left Friday after I got off work, got to the hotel about 1:00 am, and took off for Cedar Point about 8. We were then at Cedar Point from 10-10:30...it was a looooong day! The kids loved it, but Derek and I were just killing time, walking around, and trying not to get sick on the rides. I rode the Raptor and couldn't ride rides for about 2 more hours because I felt so awful... do you all remember when we went and rode almost every ride? I am now officially too old and get so sick when I try! So we did ride the antique cars, the ferris wheel, and the train twice...does that mean I am officially old? I would say so.
Besides Cedar Point I am trying to study for my RD exam. I am so unprepared, I am starting to get terrified. I have no motivation..isn't that awful? This is basically a culmination of the last 5 years of my life and I have absolutely no motivation...I am taking the test next Friday and I have got to kick my studying into overdrive or I seriously may fail. That would be awful!! Unfortunately, I'm so busy with work, the last thing I want to do when I get home is study, so I'm really struggling. Speaking of work, it's going really well. I really love my job. Being on General Medical is wonderful. Every day is different, I never know what to expect. I thought I had seen it all, until last week when I had a patient with intractible hiccups. They had a 1 year history of hiccups, isn't that insane? The doctors had found a med to get rid of them, but they keep coming back. This admission, the patient had the hiccups for 10 days straight before finally coming to the ER! So now I think I have seen it all, but I'm sure someone will come in and prove me wrong! I am also making a few friends with some of the other dietitians, which is nice. I really don't have any friends in Illinois, which is lonely, but I went out last weekend with some of the dietitians and had a great time.
A few other things going on:
I am learning to golf. I had resisted golfing with Derek for years and finally went to the driving range with him and found out I'm not too bad! I have yet to go to the golf course though, so we'll see.
I have been cheering on Derek playing church softball, it's actually a lot of fun...but they are awful, they've won 2 games all season!
We are dog sitting for a dog named Thumper. Teddy and Thumper alternate between playing, chasing eachother around and around and around the house, and biting and trying to kill eachother. It's only day 2, and we have 5 more to go...

sounds like you have been having fun! I haven't been to Cedar Point for over a year now - last time I still rode all the rides, but I wouldn't be surprised if soon I get "too old" for them also. Good luck with your exam! I understand how you wouldn't want to study after working all day. I am a little nervous about starting school again since I have had a year off. I will have to get used to it again. And I am so glad you enjoy your job!

I love roller coasters but i have to say i think you become more scared the older you get because you know the dangers and the what ifs etc ?
Sounds like you have been a busy gal! i'm so glad that you are enjoying your job! and get studying for your exam!

So this will be your last exam for awhile I assume? I'm sure you will do well like you always do.

Good luck on your exam!! I am the same way, but opposite, after a full day of class I sometimes dread going to work afterwards. It is just such a long day when you don't see you house all day!
