Abby's Blog

If you ever find happiness by hunting for it, you will find it as the old woman did her lost spectacles. Safe on her own nose all the time. ~ Josh Billings

Some little things from me too...

I thought Abby Mo's method of blogging seemed to fit my lifestyle recently, so here are a few little things from me too:

This weekend was fun, Friday I went out to dinner with Derek and then to see "Man of the Year" which was funny. Then Saturday, after the Buckeye game of course, I went out with two of my friends, and fellow dietitians, Nikki and Jenny and we went to Bar Louie and then to see "The Departed." Don't bother seeing it, I'll sum it up for you quickly: everyone gets shot in the head...

At work, I am turning into a mean and nasty preceptor. I have learned that I am very critical (I like to think of it as high standards) and have developed a reputation as a tough preceptor. But that's ok, I don't mind. I have also taken on a lot more responsiblities at work, I now have a lot to oversee, including a lot of intern projects and all of their outpatient counseling.

The weather is awful! When will winter be over?

I held a baby today again, it gives me baby fever...but still waiting, not yet.

I am going to be in my sister-in-laws wedding in August, and have seen the bridesmaids dresses, they are very cute, and it will be my first time to be a bridesmaid, hard to believe huh? So of course I'm doing all my bridesmaidly duties...

I'm trying to lose weight, it's been about 2 weeks and I'm about ready to quit, who cares if I'm clinically overweight? Just because I can help other people lose weight, doesn't mean I can do it myself. Does that make me a bad dietitian?

oh my goodness I saw "The Departed" Saturday night too, having no idea what it was about...I agree with your statement. Could have been an ok movie without all the violence! I would have rather saw "man of the year", but nope, saw people shot in the head a million times instead

And Courtney is getting married? To the same guy she dated forever?

And sounds like you are a great dietician and you are healthy, that's all that matters. I would probably be "clinically" overweight or whatever too, but I don't think we look it!

I've been thinking a lot about this question as well. I want to practice what I preach too, otherwise how can I expect respect. As far as losing weight is concerned I don't think that is too important, but we should both be eating in variety, balance and moderation and exercising regularly. I think that is more important.

Everyone's bodies are made differently, and I think that is how God intended it to be. It would be so boring if we were all the same size and shape. Hmm...this must be why I was "blessed" with size 11 feet!

I'm a critical person too! Everyone is always teasing me about my desire for "quality." It is necessary for my job - creating handicrafts that are of export quality. It's great that are personalities complement our careers.
