Alzheimers
Well I have been so busy lately. Therefore I should have a lot to blog about, but I seem to have the worst memory in the world. I will try to figure out what I've been so busy doing.
I spent the week with an outpatient dietitian. It was fun because she's 23 and her and I get along great. So I observed her doing outpatient counseling and I spent the week searching for healthy recipes and making them for taste tests. This was because she is on the news weekly doing cooking demonstrations, so I was trying to find recipes for her to do on tv. Then Friday morning I actually went to the television station to help her set up and do the morning news show. It was really fun to see what goes on off screen!! Between clips, the newscasters were crazy! They were dancing, singing, yelling at eachother and having a really good time. They were also trying to convince me to be on tv, but of course they failed. One of the women was curling her hair during a commercial break and then went on the air before she remembered to brush through it. So she was on the air with big separated curls on her hair. It was quite humorous.
Ok-so I'm going a little out of order right now. But I have to tell you what is going on in my house right now. Derek is going insane!!!! (There's 37 seconds left in the Ohio State vs. Michigan game) It looks like they're going to win, and I sure hope they do or Derek will be depressed for the next few weeks!
So anyways, that was early Friday morning. (I had to be there at 6:00 am) then the rest of the day I did busy work and then observed a counseling session for a Gastric Bypass patient. She just had gastric bypass in March and now she is 2 months pregnant. So, it was very interesting!
Then last night we had a bonfire for the youth group. It was a lot of fun. It was at someone else's house so that was nice because it required no work for me except showing up! We only sat outside for an hour because it got cold but we had smores and hot chocolate and hot apple cider, so it was a lot of fun! Then we went inside and played Apples to Apples, Euchre, and 1 game of Mafia. (And I was in the Mafia!!!) What more could you ask for? The only weird thing about the whole night was that I kind of felt like a parent at times. I don't like that. (Derek is now screaming at the top of his lungs because Ohio State won!) The funny point of the night was when a couple of the boys were playing music on the computer and a song by Eminem came on and Derek said he liked it and the kid said, "You know this song???" They obviously think we are old!!! But you know what, maybe we are!
Today I went to the Women's Bazaar at the church. They had asked me to help. So I went and stood by the door and greeted people and gave them a bag. It was a little strange because everyone was at least 40 years my senior. But of course they were all sweet so it was ok.
Tonight I'm going out to dinner for Mexican food with Golda and the other interns then to a coffee shop that Golda's brother owns. It should be fun but it upsets me that Derek can't go because of church. But of course that's the way it's going to be for a long time so I better get used to it!
So that's about it for now. I had some pictures to post but I've had some problems with our scanner. I'll work on it though.
P.S. I have run over 7 miles since Monday. Be careful, the world may end soon! (I've come a long way since high school track, Jo)

I have found that kids have a hard time judging age. It can be so funny!

I'm glad to hear Ohio State beat Michigan so Derek can remain sane.

I had one more thing to add. Derek talked to Dan Metzger and he and Holly had a little girl. Derek thought the name was Annabelle or something like that. Can you believe he doesn't remember? When I hear about a new baby the most important thing is always the name!
